Can someone attend church, carry a Bible, hold a respected position, and still be spiritually dead?
In this powerful and challenging Christian sermon, Pastor Sam Okafor examines Jesus Christ’s warning to the church in Sardis: “You have a name that you are alive, but you are dead” (Revelation 3:1).
This message is a serious call for every pastor, church leader, choir member, worker, and believer to examine their spiritual condition. Church attendance, religious titles, generous giving, popularity, eloquent preaching, and visible ministry activity cannot replace a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ.
A person may appear spiritually active before others while secretly living in sin, hatred, jealousy, pride, sexual immorality, unforgiveness, or disobedience. God sees beyond outward appearances and knows the true condition of every heart.
In this sermon, you will discover:
• What it means to be spiritually dead in the church
• Why religious activity cannot replace a relationship with God
• How hidden sin can destroy your spiritual life
• The danger of hatred, jealousy, pride, and unforgiveness
• Why spiritual gifts and church titles do not guarantee salvation
• How to examine your heart and return to genuine Christianity
• Why repentance and a new life in Jesus Christ are essential
• How to become spiritually alive and ready for eternity
Jesus warned that not everyone who calls Him “Lord” will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. On the final day, some will speak about their ministry works, miracles, and religious activities, yet hear that He never knew them.
The most important question is not how popular your church is, what position you hold, how much you give, or how busy you are in ministry. The real question is: Are you spiritually alive in Christ?
Do not allow bitterness, secret sin, worldly pleasure, pride, or empty religion to separate you from God. Examine yourself, repent sincerely, forgive others, turn away from sin, and renew your relationship with Jesus Christ.
